How the EUR price is calculated
Platinum trades internationally in US dollars per troy ounce. MarketsGrid converts that price into euros at the live USD/EUR interbank rate, cross-checked across two sources (the Daily reference rate (ECB) until it loads), so the EUR price moves with both the metal and the exchange rate. Local dealers quote their own prices, which include premiums, taxes and their own FX rate.
Historical EUR prices on the chart are converted day by day with the reference rate in force on each date, which makes long-run comparisons in EUR meaningful: a rising EUR price can reflect a stronger metal, a weaker Euro, or both.
