How MarketsGrid uses inflation data
Consumer price indices are the backbone of every “in today’s money” calculation on the site: the Time Machine, the investment calculators and the Gold vs Inflation comparison all divide nominal prices by the CPI of their date and multiply by the latest CPI. Each country’s index has a different base year, so compare rates of change across countries, not levels.
