How the CHF price is calculated

Platinum trades internationally in US dollars per troy ounce. MarketsGrid converts that price into Swiss francs at the live USD/CHF interbank rate, cross-checked across two sources (the Daily reference rate (ECB) until it loads), so the CHF price moves with both the metal and the exchange rate. Local dealers quote their own prices, which include premiums, taxes and their own FX rate.

Historical CHF prices on the chart are converted day by day with the reference rate in force on each date, which makes long-run comparisons in CHF meaningful: a rising CHF price can reflect a stronger metal, a weaker Swiss Franc, or both.
