About the dax 40 price

The DAX 40 tracks the 40 largest companies on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange. Unlike most headline indices it is a performance index: dividends are reinvested in its level. It is quoted in index points from euro prices. The headline level is published only when two market feeds agree (Yahoo Finance and CNBC, with Google Finance as a tie-breaker). History is the daily close.

Frequently asked

Why does the DAX include dividends?
The DAX is calculated as a performance index by convention, so its level assumes dividends are reinvested. Price-only versions exist but are rarely quoted.
